Drama, Goals & Glory – Coyotes Advance to Semifinals
First playoff clash was an absolute thriller between Coyotes and Cougars. Cougars, who hadn’t won a league match all season, came out like lions with fire in their eyes. They launched wave after wave of fierce attacks, testing Coyotes to the limit. Coordination issues held them back, but their never-say-die spirit was unbelievable. Missing three big stars Shamsher Johal, Ravneet Johal, and Namit Mangat Coyotes still rose to the occasion.
Captain Amol Rakkar, Kim Dillard, PP, and Tony Mangat turned on the magic. A substitute’s striker gave Coyotes an early lead in the first half.
In the second half, Kim and PP struck again with clinical finishes, making it 3-1. Their smart game plan completely neutralized Cougars’ deadly goal machine Randall, as he barely touched the ball. Captain Amol was everywhere shouting instructions even from the sidelines, fine-tuning every move.
Cougars refused to quit. Just 8 minutes from time, Cat Beau delivered a lightning-quick pass to Viraj, who smashed home a brilliant goal. The crowd erupted! But it was too little, too late.
Final score: Coyotes 3 – Cougars 1. Coyotes march into the semifinals with pure grit. Cougars still have fight left — they face Bobcats on April 11th for 5th and 6th place.
Saturday Night Fire – Playoff Thriller Send Eagles to Semis
The second match was pure fire. Bobcats’ vs Eagles turned into a nail-biting war. Early controversy erupted over D-1 player rules. Bobcats Captain Deep Dhillon boldly stepped up and alerted umpire Ilam, resulting in one Eagles player being sent off. Game on.
Eagles, led by lightning-fast Vivek, Abdullah, Henry, and technically strong Captain Anuj, played with deadly coordination and tactics. Their teamwork was on another level. But Bobcats struck first. Adrianna’s perfect pass found Raj Chatha, who slammed it home 1-0. The sidelines exploded with cheers and applause that echoed for minutes. For 18 minutes, Bobcats dominated with Manmohan Brar, Deep and Adrianna controlling the midfield like bosses.
But just before halftime, Vivek unleashed a rocket and leveled the score 1-1. The momentum swung wildly. In the second half, the intensity went nuclear.
At the 13th minute, Henry delivered a laser pass and young sensation Gurshan smashed it into the post 2-1 to Eagles. The crowd went wild. Eagles held their nerve under massive pressure and defended like warriors till the final whistle.
Final score: Eagles 2 – Bobcats 1. Eagles storm into the semifinals. Substitutes once again proved to be game changers.
The Final Four are locked in: Rattlesnakes, Panthers, Coyotes, and Eagles.
